Corked wine smells faintly like mushrooms, must, or sometimes mold. It results from a tainted cork that has been contaminated by mold. The mold creates trichloroanisole, or TCA, a chemical that’s harmless but produces foul-smelling odors.
Acidity
Acidity in wine is the level of acid that the wine contains. Wines with more acid in them taste more tart or sour.
